Compact Design Method for Planar Antennas with Defected Ground Structures

چکیده

In this paper, a compact antenna design method is proposed for microstrip patch antennas using double-layered defected ground structure (DGS) configuration. While conventional single-layered yields lower resonant frequency and Q-factor, smaller circuit size can be achieved an additional substrate with higher dielectric constant. The reduction obtained from the LC elements analytically explained equivalent model. characteristics of substrates are investigated various constants thicknesses. From experimental results, leads to total up 51.7% miniaturized planar apertures. applied designs any DGS pattern. Furthermore, maintain element its radiation characteristics. Therefore, applicable microwave devices on microstrip-based configurations.
